Organic Healthy Recipe Organic BBQ Tempeh Corn Tortilla Recipe Recipe by Larry Cook
I’m going to show you how to make barbecue tempeh corn burritos. So let’s begin. Start with turning your pan on. Next, we’ll add some coconut oil to the pan. Coconut oil is a great oil to use for sautéing. Okay, now tempeh is soybeans that have been cultured, so the way we start is we’re just going to cut one-third of it. Pull it out, wash your tempeh. Okay, cut your tempeh into small piecescubesand then add the tempeh to the pan. Your pan should be on medium heat, and the idea here is to fry the tempeh until it’s golden brown. Okay, if you notice that your pan is smoking, turn down your heat. Your oil should never smoke. While the tempeh is browning, go ahead and open up a can of organic chili beans. With the tempeh brown, we’re going to add the chili beansI’m not going to add all of them; I’m going to add half a can.
So first put a little liquid. Stir this in. You should be on medium to low heat, and we’re going to need to add a little bit of waterso have some water here, just a little bit. The next step is to add some organic shoyu sauce, found at a health food store. This is the salt of the recipe. This is what brings all the flavors together. The next step is to add the Simply Organic Barbecue Spice; it’s quite good. Grind it in. Stir it in. I’ll be honest with youI did forget the jalapeño pepper, so go ahead and cut this up if you haven’t already.
Add the jalapeño to the mixture, stir this inordinarily I would’ve sautéed the jalapeño as little bit, but this works too. Go with the flow sometimes. The next step is to add the sprouted corn tortillas. These are made by Food for Life, and these are the most amazing corn tortillas you’ve ever had, so go ahead and try them at some point in time. Just put two on top like this.
While the tortillas are heating up, we’re going to cut up the rest of the food. Okay, cut up your tomato. You don’t need muchhalf will do. Next, do the daikon root. The daikon root is a radish. Just peel a little bit, grate up a little bit. So with your avocado, just slice it down the middle so that you can turn it into chunks. Okay, we’re ready to add everything to the plate, so we’ll just take our corn tortillas, put them onto the plate. We’ll scoop up our mixture here. Next, we’ll add the daikon root, the tomato, add the avocado, and add some sprouts.
And then the next thing to add is some flax oilflax oil makes a great condiment and it has omega-3 fatty acids, which we all need. And lastly, Annie’s Woodstock dressingthis is an amazing dressing; it makes everything taste good. So no matter what you make, add Woodstock dressing and it’ll taste good. Here we have a barbecue tempeh corn burrito, open-face, and I’m sure you’re going to love it.
